to join theLibrary & Learning Skills service until the end of May 2026. You will be working from our London campuses (Bloomsbury and Moorgate) full-time. Your work pattern is flexible, but must include a Saturday.
Please note this is a fixed term position until the end of May 2026, working 35 hours per week.
As
a Library Learning Advisor,
you will be working across the entire Library & Study Skills Service to help students and staff engage with our skills support services, explore our collections and make use of our learning spaces. As this is a fixed term role, and you will be the only member of the department working on a Saturday, we are particularly looking for someone who has experience of library work in a university setting and will be confident answering student and staff enquiries. You will be a key member of the team, enabling students and staff to develop strong information literacy, digital and academic skills through the provision of specialist training and support. You will also have the opportunity to work on a specific project related to our online presence and reading lists.
As our Library Learning Advisor, you will:
Support the delivery of high-quality customer service to students and staff of the University of Law, both in person via roving and online via our enquiry and chat service and our 1-2-1 appointments service
Assess and respond to student's individual skills needs, supporting students with simple and complex queries, and triaging or referring onto learning resources and other experts in the team as necessary
Deliver skills workshops and webinars to enable students and staff to develop their information literacy, digital and academic skills
Maintain the library print collection and monitor the library environment
We are looking for people who are/have:
Experience of directly supporting students in an academic library setting
Confident level of digital literacy, including use of Microsoft Office, library systems, Discovery tools and databases
Demonstrable customer care experience
Able to work alone and unsupervised, with good attention to detail
Ability to deal with frequent interruptions while concentrating on diverse tasks
Polite, helpful and positive attitude
