An opportunity has arisen for a Library Learning Facilitator to join East Durham College This role will be based in our Learning Resource centres and you will be expected to work across our sites and a maximum of 2 evenings a week on a full time, term time basis. To play a leading role in realising our vision to create outstanding futures for our learners. This role will be to deliver an ambitious curriculum to all by working as part of the Learning Resource team and ensuring that we are offering an inclusive learning environment that supports teaching and learning throughout the College, supporting a wide-ranging curriculum.

About You

We are looking for someone who can work within our Learning Centres, who can support teaching and learning throughout the College, supporting a wide-ranging curriculum, to offer inductions for students and new staff, offering study skills, digital support, and proof reading alongside normal library services.

The Job

To undertake various desk duties including issuing and receiving loan stock; shelving load stock; processing new stock; filing/overdues; checking orders; and other duties as directed.

To provide advice and support to staff and students to use the Learning Resources Centre effectively including digital support. To liaise with curriculum teams regarding the availability and development of subject resources.

To ensure the Learning Resources Centre provides an environment conducive to learning by: providing support to staff and students and maintaining acceptable standards of behaviour.

Host inductions, referencing sessions and other appropriate training events for new students and staff as required.
