Library Outreach Project Officer

Are you passionate about community engagement, project delivery, and making a real difference?

We are seeking a proactive and flexible Library Outreach Project Officer to join our Westmorland and Furness Library team. This is a dynamic role focused on reaching out to the heart of our communities, driving participation, and delivering on key Council priorities around wellbeing, literacy, and cultural engagement.

You will be deployed across geographic areas and diverse community groups, working closely with our Library Development Officers and reporting to the Library & Customer Manager.

Your responsibilities will include actively engaging with the community, planning and implementing outreach initiatives, fostering strong partnerships, assisting in the delivery of library events and managing the budget and reporting for specific outreach projects.

Who we are looking for...





Ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and build relationships.

Experience in planning, organising, and executing events and programs.

Ability to manage projects from start to finish

Experience in engaging with community organisations and building partnerships.

Knowledge of library collections, programs, and services.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills



Ability to travel to locations across Westmorland and Furness
