Summary / Role Purpose

The License Compliance Sales Specialist II is responsible for identifying and developing opportunities to generate business in a geographical territory through License Compliance (LC) cases. The LCSS needs to give guidance to the sales team and channel partner or conduct commercial negotiations which leads to a resolution of the license compliance case. In this role, the LCSS will work closely together with legal, sales, channels, external legal counsels, 3rd-party auditors and LC service providers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recover revenue lost to piracy and illegal software use. The LCSS is responsible for supporting the protection and enforcement of the company\'s Intellectual Property Rights and managing a sales territory to recover revenue lost to unauthorized license use
  • Negotiate large License Compliance settlements. The LCSS will negotiate large infringements directly with senior executives and CxO suite of the suspected organization
  • Build a cross-functional team. The LCSS will schedule discussions between field sales, channel partners and suspected companies to negotiate a commercial solution. In addition, the LCSS will work with the internal legal team, External Legal Counsel, 3rd-party Audit firms, Law Enforcement agencies and initiate legal actions if necessary
  • Work with LC agencies, legal firms and law enforcement organizations. The LCSS will manage LC services agencies and legal firms to pursue copyright infringement cases and assists and participate in law enforcement actions with selected companies who refuse to comply
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
  • Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor\'s degree with an engineering, business or legal focus with 3+ years of work experience in a License Compliance role with a multi-national software company OR 7+ years of work experience in a License Compliance role with a multi-national software company
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills and sales driven.
  • Fluent in English and in the local language of the territory
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience with local laws in the designated territory
