Purpose of the job This role is positioned within the IWM\'s commercial department and is responsible for revenue generation. We are seeking a Licensing Executive to join our small team based in London. The role involves licensing images and sound from IWM\xe2\x80\x99s collections, delivering great customer service to producers, editors and researchers working on multiple projects, often with tight deadlines. You will be dealing with enquires about IWM\'s collections and licensing policies, assisting with research using our systems and collaboration with curatorial colleagues, administering the permissions of requests including the supply of digital material. The role also involves forging client relationships to develop new business, to assist the department with achieving monthly/quarterly sales targets. We are looking for an outgoing individual, with an enthusiasm for the visual arts and 20th century history, who can hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with excellent organisational skills and professional experience in a customer orientated role within an arts or media organisation.
Key duties
You will be expected to work independently as well as across different teams in order to contribute to and deliver the priorities of IWM - using your knowledge, skills, talent and potential to the best of your ability. You will focus at all times on delivering excellent customer service, ensure value for money at all times while being professional, courteous and demonstrating the behaviours and attributes expected of all IWM employees. You will also adhere to all corporate standards, and use corporate systems as directed to ensure consistency of service, brand and operational standards. You will be expected to work across departments effectively, working with individuals, partners and where appropriate volunteers. To identify and implement learning and development needs for both you and your team, including volunteers, if appropriate. In addition, your duties will include:

  • To facilitate the access, supply, and licensing of digital assets to media professionals.
  • Respond promptly to copyright and licensing enquiries, with excellent customer service.
  • To build and drive revenue through positive relationships with clients, maintaining service levels.
  • To take responsibility for the development of sales leads that derive from customer enquiries, meeting and exceeding revenue targets as assigned.
  • The appropriate management of all financial and contractual procedures within your control.
  • Administrative duties associated with our licensing business, including processing invoices and supporting Finance with payment reconciliation.
  • Generating new business using existing and potential customer networks.
  • To develop an expertise in the needs of users and an ability to think creatively around income generation, contributing to the department\xe2\x80\x99s business plan with its associated income target.
  • Provide research assistance by developing a good knowledge of collections, offering tailored image solutions, and educating clients on search tips, consulting with curators as required.
  • The input and management of customer data into our CRM system, following data protection procedures.
  • Working across departments to arrange digitisation of museum objects for client requests.
  • To actively participate in team meetings and business planning, supporting all pre/post sales activity, suggesting actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Supporting marketing output schedule, including proposing content for social media and eNews.
  • To represent and promote the Media Sales & Licensing offer and IWM.
