About the Role
Bhuku Ltd is urgently recruiting
two dynamic Course Tutors
to deliver a high-quality life skills education programme at
HMP Liverpool
. This innovative programme supports personal development, resilience, employability, and mental wellbeing among prisoners, with a strong emphasis on accredited and practical learning.
The successful candidates will deliver a suite of
ETCAL-accredited and CIWM/Highfield qualifications
, engage a diverse learner group, and contribute to a collaborative prison education model. The learners range in age from 21 to 75+, and cohorts will include both remand and sentenced individuals.
Courses You Will Deliver:
Waste and Recycling (CIWM Level 1)
Environmental Sustainability (Highfield Level 1)
Manufacturing Practices (ETCAL Level 2)
Mental Health, Goal Setting, Resilience, Conflict Resolution, and more (ETCAL Level 1)
Responsibilities
Deliver group sessions five days a week (AM and PM sessions)
Prepare lesson plans and adapt delivery to suit learners with varying needs
Assess, track, and record learner progress and achievements
Work collaboratively with the prison's education, CIAG, and rehabilitation teams
Recruit learners in coordination with the Activities Hub and other departments
Share attendance and performance data monthly
Contribute to inspection readiness (Ofsted, HMIP) and quality assurance meetings
Essential Criteria
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Confident working in secure environments and with diverse groups
Willingness to undergo and pass prison vetting (can take up to 8 weeks)
Desirable
Recognised teaching qualification (minimum Level 3 AET or equivalent)
Experience delivering accredited adult learning programmes
Experience delivering in prison or offender learning environments
Qualifications in relevant subject areas (e.g. environmental studies, manufacturing, coaching)
Understanding of trauma-informed and inclusive teaching practices
Experience using ILPs and tracking learner progression
