About the Role
We are looking to appoint a reliable and committed
Lifeguard
to join the team at St Chris School Swimming Pool. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and positive experience of students, staff and members of the public using our facilities, while maintaining the highest standards of service and professionalism.
You will work under the direction of the Head of Swimming and Pool Manager, operating in line with all relevant health and safety policies and procedures.
What You Will Do
Supervise the swimming pool and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of all users
Carry out lifeguard duties on poolside on a rota basis
Operate in accordance with Normal Operating Procedures (NOPs), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and health and safety policies
Administer first aid and emergency treatment when required
Carry out pool water testing and report any irregularities
Ensure all pool areas, equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained
Monitor use of the facilities to ensure appropriate behaviour and security
Assist with swimming lessons or activities where qualified and required
Support training of new staff and participate in regular staff training sessions
Undertake reception duties and act as a key holder when required
Communicate any issues or concerns promptly to the Head of Swimming
What We Are Looking For
A valid and current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
Strong understanding of health and safety standards and procedures in a swimming pool environment
Friendly, approachable and professional manner
Physically capable of fulfilling the requirements of the role
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
Strong customer service focus and ability to work as part of a team
Commitment to maintaining high standards and ongoing training
A commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, equality and data protection
