We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lifeguard and Swim Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be a qualified Lifeguard. This role includes active lifeguarding, enforcing pool rules, responding to emergencies, and supporting a safe, positive, and educational environment aligned with school policies and safeguarding standards.
Experience of delivering swim lessons to children would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
Maintain constant surveillance of the swimming pool and surrounding areas during school swimming lessons, extracurricular activities, and approved pool use.
Ensure the safety of students at all times, with particular attention to age-appropriate supervision and safeguarding requirements.
Enforce pool rules, safety regulations, and school policies consistently and professionally.
Respond immediately and appropriately to emergencies, including rescues, first aid, and CPR as required.
Administer first aid and complete incident/accident reports in line with school procedures.
Conduct pre-use safety checks of the pool, equipment, and facilities.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly pool environment.
Communicate effectively with teaching staff, swimming instructors, and school administrators.
Attend regular training, drills, and staff meetings to maintain certifications and skills.
Follow all health and safety, child protection, and safeguarding policies.
If qualified, plan and deliver swimming lessons tailored to the needs of participants, ensuring clear instruction and progression.
Qualifications
Level 3 Lifeguarding certificate (eg NPLQ) essential
Swim Teaching qualification an advantage
recognised First Aid certificationan advantage
Ability to demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and professionalism in all interactions.
A commitment to maintaining a safe environment through adherence to established procedures and standards.
Flexibility to work varied hours including evenings and weekends as required by programme schedules.
