About this role


The function of the Lifting / Rigging Assistant is to assist in the undertaking of all rigging, and loading / unloading tasks, across all Company sites as instructed by the relevant Workshop Foreman.



Main responsibilities
Rigging Duties


Completing all rigging and lifting tasks as per instruction risk assessment. Complete visual checks of all containers and equipment prior to loading / unloading. Responsible for checking plant/equipment prior to use highlighting any faults or defects to the relevant workshop foreman. Responsible for loading and unloading components, making sure the lifting equipment is capable of holding the weight. All work must be carried out in accordance with verbal instruction from the relevant Workshop Foreman or by following the scope of work detailed on the job card or recognised standing instructions. Strip / Paint equipment as required



Labouring Duties

Receive instructions from Workshop Foreman in general labouring duties. Responsible for keeping all areas tidy. Use of Blaster / Steam Cleaner Give general assistance on direction from Workshop Foreman. Complete safety inductions for 3rd party personnel. Operating plant within sphere of training and competence. Covering operational roles as required to cover for operation absence. Delivery and collection of material and equipment ensuring all required paperwork is correct and complete.



HSEQ Responsibilities

- It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with, and follows the Company's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management System and takes an active part in the compliance and improvement of the Management Systems.


- The incumbent must report any accidents, incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems according to the Management System processes/procedures.


- The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health, safety and/or environmental legislation to follow these.


- The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.



Qualifications & Experience

- Valid forklift operator certificate


- Good people management skills


- Good communication and organisational skills


- Understand and be able to comply with all HSEQ processes


- Experience of 3rd party management


- Be able to adapt in an ever changing environment


- Current UK driving license
