Qualified Lifting Gear Engineer, Sittingbourne, Kent.

Role Description

Due to an expanding workload we have a vacancy to add to our experienced staff. This is a full-time role for a qualified Lifting Gear Engineer based in our Sittingbourne works. The Lifting Gear Engineer will be responsible for LOLER inspections, maintaining, and repairing various items of Customers lifting equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. The role includes carrying out routine inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution both in our works and on customers sites throughout the UK, but mainly in the London and South East England areas. Collaboration with other team members and ensuring accurate reporting and documentation are also key aspects of this role.

The company has vans and trucks for travel to site locations from our Sittingbourne works. The successful applicant will ideally hold a clean UK driving licence, and be able to travel to our Sittingbourne base. where parking for their vehicle is available. Normal basic hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm with flexibility for earlier starts to travel to site locations, Rare occasional overnight stays are involved at locations that are a considerabl;e distance from our Sittingbourne, Base.

Salary: Negotiable on experience, but Circa 30,000/32,000 PA

Holidays: Initially 28 days per annum including bank holidays.

Qualifications

Experience with maintaining, repairing, and inspecting lifting gear and equipment for safety and functionality Strong technical knowledge of lifting gear, tools, and machinery Ability to conduct fault diagnostics, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to lifting equipment Effective communication and teamwork skills Ability to work independently and take responsibility for assigned tasks Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in engineering or the operation of lifting equipment Previous experience in a similar role or in the marine and industrial services industry is advantageous
