About the role



Be part of this 'once in a generation' project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity.



The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke.

What you'll be doing



Role overview



The Lifting Manager is responsible for overseeing all lifting operations across the Sizewell C project CWA, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency. This role is critical during the enabling and earthworks phase, where coordination of heavy lifting and logistics is essential.


Manage the CWA lifting team and implement the Principal Contractor Lifting Standard. Coordinate crane movements to avoid collisions and manage shared lifting equipment. Promote safe lifting practices through forums, training, and reward schemes. Engage with contractors to ensure lifting compliance and foster innovation. Drive continuous improvement and a culture of safety and learning. Participate in lifting forums and stay updated on technological advancements. Ensure documentation (lifting plans, risk assessments) is complete and auditable. 42 hours per week.


Who we're looking for



Essential Skills & Experience:


Strong leadership and communication skills. Proven strategic planning and implementation ability. Experience in large infrastructure projects. Knowledge of national/international lifting regulations and CDM regulations. Experience interfacing with ONR/HSE.



Desirable Qualifications: CPCS A61 Appointed Person CPCS A62 Lift Supervisor ECITB Appointed Person Moving Loads TAP01 NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Experience in nuclear operations and behavioural safety leadership
