Retail and Service Technician

Here at The Motor Group, we pride ourselves with good quality vehicles which have been inspected by good quality technicians.

The Motor Group service department is vital to our operation. Without our service team customers would not receive vehicles which have been tested for quality and all safety aspects.

Our service technicians/mechanics make sure all vehicles are thoroughly road tested, have been through an extensive 114-point inspection check and engine diagnostic check. They have to have the ability to make first time repairs and correctly diagnose issues from mechanical to all safety items such as brakes, suspension components, etc. Our technicians can be customer facing and its essential good customer skills are provided along with some well-loved TLC for their vehicles.

We are currently opening a new state of the art workshop in Kings Dyke, Whittlesey. This will be fully equipped with heavy load ramps and the newest diagnostic equipment. Our role as the company is to make sure there is a suitable environment and process for our technicians/mechanics to work efficiently and content. Most importantly we aim to create a good working environment.

What sort of technician are you? We are looking for technicians of all back ground and experience. Whether you are a master technician, have experience in electrical diagnostics or you have some experience, to newly qualified. What have you been experience with? Is it strictly retail work or are you working with supercars? Do you come from a volume background? Our goal is to find the right job role for you.

What you need to join our team as a retail and service technician?

A full driving licence Being able to follow workshop rules and understand, process information from superiors. Liaising with the Aftercare Specialist or Work shop Manager. To maximise use of technical knowledge and skills to achieve effective, economic and safe service / repair of customers vehicles Excellent understanding of equipment, tools, systems and processes within a service department Maintenance of a clean and tidy workspace Having diagnostic capabilities
What is expected from you?

We expect you to be able to take a vehicle from the start of the process to the end. This includes road testing vehicles, conducting full 114-point inspections, diagnosing any mechanical or safety faults, carrying out first time and effective repairs and servicing items.

We offer the chance to progress up the ladder and with further education and greater skill sets comes greater rewards.

The Motor Group can see that the automotive industry is turning electric. We aim to send parts of our team on auto electric courses in the future, based on skill set.
