Doncaster GTA is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our dedicated team as an Apprenticeship Light Vehicle Trainer/Tutor. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the careers of young apprentices in the automotive sector.
About the Role
You will deliver engaging and practical training to apprentices on our Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair programmes (primarily Level 2 and Level 3), sharing your hands-on expertise and supporting their development both in the classroom and workshop settings.
Drawing on your diagnostic and repair expertise at Level 3 or above, you will also be expected to offer technical advice, assistance, and support to other Trainers/Tutors as needed.
Teaching experience is not essential - if you're enthusiastic about passing on your knowledge and want to move into teaching, full training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver training sessions and assessments in light vehicle maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair techniques.
Support learners to develop their technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional behaviours.
Monitor and track apprentice progress, providing feedback and guidance.
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the training programme.
Technical support for apprentice trainers/tutors
Essential Skills and Experience
Proven experience as a Light Vehicle Technician with a strong diagnostic background.
Up-to-date knowledge of industry-standard tools, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passionate about developing others and sharing knowledge.
Desirable (but not essential)
Teaching or mentoring experience.
Recognised teaching or assessing qualifications (e.g. AET, TAQA).
Experience working with apprentices or young learners.
