We are looking for someone to join as a

Lighting Designer

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY

The Lighting Designer will take responsibility for the design and delivery of lighting projects across hospitality, commercial, retail, and healthcare sectors. The role requires a confident designer with strong creative and technical ability, capable of managing projects from concept through to completion.

KEY SKILLS, RESPONSIBILITES & OBJECTIVES

Develop creative and technically sound lighting design concepts

Deliver lighting design packages from concept through to installation and handover

Produce drawings, calculations, specifications, and schedules

Manage lighting design deliverables and programmes

Liaise directly with clients, interior designers, engineers, and contractors

Prepare and deliver client presentations

Specify luminaires, controls systems, and lighting strategies

Review contractor submissions, samples, and technical information

Ensure designs meet relevant standards, regulations, and project requirements

Support and mentor junior team members

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3 years' professional experience in lighting design

Experience across hospitality, commercial, residential, and healthcare projects

Strong understanding of lighting principles, technology, and application

Proficiency in AutoCAD and lighting calculation software

Experience producing construction-ready lighting documentation

Confident client-facing communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects independently

DESIRABLE

Experience with lighting controls systems

Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability considerations

BIM / Revit experience

Professional membership or working towards accreditation
