About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organised and technically proficient Lightning Protection Project Manager?to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of lightning protection system projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical or construction project management, with specific experience in lightning protection systems, risk assessment, and compliance with relevant standards (e.g., BS EN 62305).

In this role, you will:

Project Management:

Lead end-to-end project delivery from initial client consultation to final commissioning. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors to ensure timely and quality execution.
Technical Oversight:

Conduct site surveys and risk assessments for lightning protection requirements. Ensure designs comply with national and international standards (e.g., BS EN 62305, NFPA 780). Review and approve technical drawings and installation plans.
Client & Stakeholder Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Provide regular updates and manage expectations regarding scope, schedule, and cost. Liaise with regulatory bodies and inspectors as needed.
Quality & Compliance:

Ensure all installations meet safety and quality standards. Maintain accurate documentation for audits and certifications. Implement and monitor health & safety protocols on-site.
Financial Management:

Track project costs and manage budgets effectively. Prepare and submit invoices and financial reports. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

What we are looking for:

Proven track record estimating and winning tenders - preferably within the solar or roofing and building envelope refurbishment project sector. Experience working directly with clients and surveyors on commercial and industrial projects. Confident communicator, capable of leading site surveys and client discussions. Commercially astute, organised, and self-managed, able to work under pressure to deadlines. Experience liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to build accurate, competitive project specifications. Strong understanding of BS EN 62305 and other relevant standards. Degree or certification in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) is a plus. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, CRM systems).
