We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and kitchen management, with experience in fine dining and catering environments. As a Line Chef, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation. This position requires effective team management and leadership skills to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Must have own transport due to the location
The Palm House opening hours are 9.30am-4.30pm
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
Oversee food production processes, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed
Collaborate with the culinary team to plan menus that meet dietary requirements and customer preferences
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Assist in catering events, ensuring timely and efficient service
Monitor kitchen operations, addressing any issues that arise during service
Maintain equipment and utensils, ensuring they are in good working condition
Skills
Proven experience in the food industry with a focus on culinary excellence
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
Experience in banquet service and restaurant management is preferred
Knowledge of inventory management and control processes
Proficient in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation skills
Familiarity with dietary department practices and menu planning
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within the kitchen team
Commitment to food safety standards and best practices in food handling
Experience in hospitality settings with an understanding of customer service principles
