We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in food preparation, kitchen management, and team leadership within a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment. Duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimize kitchen operations
Oversee food safety practices, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
Assist in menu planning and development to meet customer expectations and dietary requirements
Coordinate with catering and banquet services to ensure timely delivery of food for events
Lead shift management activities, including scheduling staff and managing operational challenges
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment at all times
Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety standards, and company policies
Monitor food presentation and quality control throughout service hours
Must be available to work over school holidays and festive periods (e.g. Christmas, New Year, Bank Holidays)
Skills
Proven experience in food production within a restaurant or catering setting; fine dining experience preferred
Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or team management experience
Knowledge of dietary department standards and food safety regulations
Expertise in inventory management, control, and food handling procedures
Ability to plan menus and oversee food service operations effectively
Excellent cooking skills with a focus on quality presentation and consistency
Experience in kitchen management including shift supervision and resource allocation
Familiarity with catering services, event coordination, and hospitality standards
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and service delivery
Effective communication skills for team coordination and customer interaction
