Position overview:
Performs mechanical and engineering tasks to provide effective services to support the plant's production goals, overall business plans and objectives as directed.
Key responsibilities include:
Performs various manual or mechanical production tasks by operating, adjusting, and repairing production equipment to meet customer specifications.
Disassembles, overhauls, and rebuilds of production equipment.
Performs troubleshooting on production equipment as required.
Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment as required.
Inputs real-time data on a computer terminal.
Inspects in-process or finished product to meet customer specifications.
Initiates, reviews and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
Supplies and maintains required hand tools.
To be an effective communicator with management and colleagues , reporting quality defects, unsafe conditions, manufacturing difficulties, suggesting ideas for improvements.
To promote improvements and preventative actions by involvement in continuous improvement activities to meet the key performance objectives and targets.
What are we looking for?
An apprenticeship or relevant qualification in a Engineering / Mechanical discipline
Pneumatics and hydraulic experience is essential
Surface grinding experience is preferable
Good computer literacy skills
Good communication and organisational skills
Troubleshooting skills/experience
Experience working in an engineering fast paced manufacturing environment
Analytical skills to interpret numerical data and problem solving skills
Ability to understand and adhere to operating principles of all assigned equipment and products
Ability to identify product defects
Ability to use hand and power tools
Working knowledge of machine mechanics
Displays behaviours in line with Ball core values
