Job Description

Based in Avonmouth, Plant-Ex ingredients in an international company specialising in the manufacture of Natural Food Ingredient Solutions, supplying across the globe either directly through our own facilities or through a number of selected distribution partners.

We specialise in spray drying food colourings and flavours as well as production of liquid food colours, flavours and extracts.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our packing team with an immediate start available!!



When the production section of the factory have completed a batch of liquid product, it is kept in holding tanks which are then placed into the packing section, and these are filled through taps into 5kg, 10kg and 25kg containers.

The packing area is light, quiet and clean and is an easy place to work with the radio on - the team are enthusiastic, hard working and friendly.

All roles are full time (40 hours per week)- Daytime - Monday to Friday with some flexibility available in hours.

Main Responsibilities:-

Tap off liquid product from large IBC tanks into jerrys, using digital weighing scales to ensure precise fill levels.

Ensure correct weights and zero product loss or overfill.

Verify correct product, batch, and packaging is used in line with the works order.

Safely seal and label filled jerrys, then palletise them for dispatch.

Wrap pallets securely and place in designated areas for logistics.

Complete work order paperwork, weights, and batch traceability forms with high accuracy.

Ensure all documentation is signed off and ready for daily handover.

Work in accordance with hygiene, food safety, and contamination control procedures.

Ensure goods are produced under a clean environment and with minimal risk of foreign body contamination or cross contamination.
Ensure all spillages or errors are reported immediately and cleaned per protocol.

Maintain clean, unobstructed work corridors and keep tapping areas free from waste and product residue.

Take responsibility for your area and tapping station
Wear all required PPE correctly depending on the task.

Communicate clearly with the Team Leader and QC regarding any issues with product, weights, or documentation.

Support smooth shift handovers by ensuring tasks and paperwork are complete.

Work closely with team members to ensure daily targets are met and downtime is minimised.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:



We offer full training! We are looking for driven people who want to get involved and succeed in our fast-paced company.

You need to have basic reading and writing skills for recording batch numbers, and basic computer skills for sending emails.

You need to be physically fit and be able to lift 25kg comfortably.



You will need a high level of attention to detail. Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.

Counterbalance FLT would be advantageous but is not essential.
