LISTINGS SUB-EDITOR
Reports to: Client Operations Manager
Brands: The Modern House & Inigo
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

OUR LISTINGS SUB-EDITOR

This role sub-edits and proofreads all sales digital listings copy before publication to The Modern House and Inigo websites. Working closely with the Appraisals team, our Listings Sub-editor ensures our digital listings are continuously of a high standard, offering an editorial eye. They are a brand guardian and apply our brand style book to all listings. Our Sub-editor also uses SEO guidelines which help to create digital content that maximises the quality and quantity of our web traffic.

Our Listings Sub-Editor contributes to our listing editorial style and makes continuous improvements to achieve the highest quality of listings. They provide critical writing feedback to Appraisers to aid their training and ability to construct effective listings in our brand style.

This is a fast-paced and dynamic role, requiring a high level of organisation and the ability to independently re-prioritise according to business needs.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

Sub-edit and proofread all sales digital listings copy before publication, ensuring adherence to brand style, compliance and SEO guidelines

Provide oversight on brand coherence and style for all written content produced by the Appraisals team, offering an editorial eye

Work to develop the format of sales particulars, to improve their performance as pieces of digital content and as commercial listings

Contribute to image selections in collaboration with the Appraisals team

Manage and update listings brand style guidelines

Add related content links and tags to listings, to encourage the relationship between sales and editorial content and enhance SEO performance

Contribute to written content or copy editing across the wider team when required

Provide critical feedback to Appraisers to help improve their writing and brand style

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Exceptional writing and sub-editing skills

Enthusiasm for working collaboratively as part of a team

Open to collaborative and constructive criticism from colleagues

Strong attention to detail

Good organiser, time-manager and multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively

A creative thinker, who can contribute to a wider appraisals and editorial strategy

Ideally a strong architectural design / built environment knowledge and interest

Ability to provide constructive feedback on writing to colleagues
