Are you a detail-oriented manufacturing professional with a passion for quality and precision? We're looking for a Platemaker / Labelcare specialist to join our Wrexham site, helping us deliver top-quality plates and labels that keep our production lines running smoothly and meet our customer's high standards.



About the Role



As our Platemaker, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality plates and date codes essential for our plant's operations. You'll work closely with the Graphics and Quality teams, ensuring every plate matches the required standards and supporting both Wrexham and Rugby plants as needed. Your attention to detail and equipment maintenance skills will be key to maintaining smooth production and exceptional product quality.



Key Responsibilities



Manufacture plates and produce date codes for Wrexham; provide flexible support for Rugby Platemaking when required



Maintain and service key equipment (CDI unit, washer, punch/guillotine) liaising with suppliers as needed



Manage ordering and stock control of plates and date code materials



Ensure plates meet quality standards in line with graphics requirements



Issue plates daily for production and control returned plates, checking for damage



Coordinate closely with trading, graphics, and production teams to reduce quality issues



Maintain label care tasks and support customer and graphic proofs sign-off



Organize meetings for proofs, maintain colour standards, and archive designs



Support weekly planning and graphics calls by preparing performance and equipment reports



Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of platemaking equipment



Perform monthly stock counts and manage colour measurements to support customer requirements



What We're Looking For



Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent; Mechanical/Electrical apprenticeship preferred



Strong manufacturing and quality assurance background



Fluent in written and spoken English



Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel essential), SAP knowledge advantageous



Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
