THE PERSON



We are looking for a talented individual to join our busy Defendant department on a full time, permanent basis.

The ideal candidate must be pro-active, self-motivated and commercially savvy. The candidate must possess excellent organisation skills, and be capable of working autonomously, and as part of a team in a fast paced environment. The candidate must have excellent attention to detail and high levels of written and verbal communication skills.

THE ROLE



You will work with autonomy on a varied caseload comprising all manner of claims arising predominantly from Road Traffic Accidents. You will manage those claims from instruction until conclusion, including undertaking all necessary investigations and evidential analysis, and delivering a high standard of service to the clients throughout.

?You will manage your daily tasks through our purpose-built case management system making every file touch count, using your skills and knowledge to successfully settle the claim whether this be through negotiation or at Trial.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Autonomously manage a varied litigated case load comprising Part 8 claims, MOJ Stage 3, OIC claims, Infant Approvals, and claims allocated to the Small Track and Fast Track, and potential exposure to higher value claims for the appropriate candidate.
- Organising and reviewing papers including all medical and financial documents.
- Drafting documents, including advice to clients, statements of case, Schedules, Disclosure, Witness statements, Briefs, and applications where necessary.
- Communicating with the Court, parties, clients, witnesses, experts and barristers where appropriate.
- Undertaking all manner of investigations into liability, causation, and quantum.
- Investigating and developing a good understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules, relevant case law and legal principles, applying this to cases for the benefit of clients.

Contribute to the development and strengthening of relationships with new and existing clients. Ensure compliance with existing Service Level Agreements. To assist with ad-hoc enquiries / investigations as and when they arise. To assist with financial administration, including payment of invoices, and billing. Inputting and maintaining MI / data. To work under the supervision of, and reporting directly into the Head of Department, and to assist with other ad-hoc responsibilities as required.

2+ Years Credit Hire / RTA / Litigation Experience A desire to succeed Client care skills Problem solving skills Attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Good administration and organisational skills
