Job Description

1. Role Purpose



The Litigation Executive will support the Litigation Department in managing a varied caseload, assisting solicitors, preparing legal documents, and ensuring the smooth progression of matters. The role requires strong legal knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent client communication skills.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesCase Management



Manage a caseload of litigation matters under supervision. Assist with case progression, ensuring all deadlines and court directions are met. Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries. Draft, review, and prepare court forms, witness statements, bundles, and correspondence.

Client Care



Be the first point of contact for clients, providing regular updates. Handle client queries professionally and promptly. Maintain accurate records of all communications.

Documentation & Court Work



Prepare briefs to counsel and assist in instructing experts. Lodge applications, claims, and other documents with the appropriate courts or tribunals. Prepare trial bundles, hearing bundles, and disclosure documentation.

Administrative Duties



Maintain client files in accordance with firm policies and regulatory requirements. Update case management systems accurately. Assist solicitors with diary management, scheduling hearings, and arranging meetings.

Compliance



Ensure all work complies with SRA regulations, GDPR, and firm policies. Adhere to confidentiality and data protection standards.

3. Skills & QualificationsEssential



Minimum 1-2 years of experience in litigation (civil or general litigation). Strong drafting and legal research skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines. Proficient in MS Office and case management systems. Strong organisational and time-management abilities.

Desirable



Law degree, LPC/SQE or equivalent legal qualification. Experience preparing court bundles and dealing with County Court/High Court matters. Knowledge of CPR (Civil Procedure Rules).
