The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the law relating to claims under the Defamation Act and/or Protection from Harassment Act and/or claims against the police and demonstrate the ability to provide expert legal advice to clients on matters in these areas. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our clients navigate the complexities of Defamation/Harassment legislation effectively while protecting their interests.
Knowledge of Legal Aid funded cases and the use of the CCMS portal are desirable.
Duties
Provide comprehensive legal advice on defamation/harassment issues, including libel, slander, and stalking (both physical and
Represent clients in hearings and negotiations, advocating for their rights and interests.
Remain current on changes in the law and regulations to provide informed guidance to clients.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction with legal services provided.
Requirements
Qualified solicitor with a valid practising certificate in England and Wales.
Proven experience in Defamation or Harassment or police claims within a legal firm.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients' interests.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and client management.
Ideally, a minimum of 3 years PQE or more.
