Job Description

1. Role Purpose



The Litigation Solicitor will manage a diverse caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters at our Stratford office. The role requires strong advocacy, exceptional drafting skills, and the ability to provide high-quality legal advice while ensuring excellent client care. You will work both independently and as part of a dynamic and supportive litigation team.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesCase Management



Handle a varied caseload of litigation matters, including but not limited to: General Civil Litigation Commercial Disputes Contractual Claims Debt Recovery Landlord & Tenant Disputes Property Litigation Small Claims & Fast Track Matters Provide strategic legal advice to clients at all stages of the dispute. Prepare, draft, and review pleadings, applications, witness statements, and bundles. Conduct legal research and provide written opinions. Liaise with counsel, experts, and third parties as required.

Advocacy & Court Work



Attend hearings, directions appointments, mediation, and settlement meetings. Prepare case strategies and ensure compliance with relevant court deadlines and CPR rules.

Client Care & Communication



Maintain regular and proactive communication with clients. Provide clear, practical, and timely advice. Ensure all client interactions are recorded and files are kept updated.

Compliance & File Management



Manage files in accordance with SRA regulations, firm policies, and GDPR requirements. Ensure accurate use of the firm's case management system (LEAP). Maintain billing and time recording to agreed targets.

Teamwork & Contribution



Support junior team members and paralegals where required. Contribute to departmental meetings and business development initiatives. Uphold the values and high standards of Law Lane Solicitors.

3. Skills & ExperienceEssential



Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with at least

1-3 years PQE

in litigation (or strong relevant experience). Strong knowledge of the

Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)

. Excellent drafting and advocacy skills. Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload independently. Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional attention to detail and organisation. Proficiency with MS Office and case management systems.

Desirable



Experience using

LEAP

case management. Experience with High Court matters. Commercial litigation exposure.
