Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring that each child receives the care and attention they need to thrive.

You must have the ability to swap from superhero to princess really fast!

Duties

Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging educational activities tailored to the developmental needs of children. Support children during playtime, encouraging social interaction and cooperative play. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all children. Help with daily routines, including feeding, nappy changing, and ensuring hygiene standards are met. Observe and record children's progress, reporting any concerns to senior staff members. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to promote effective communication. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Skills

A genuine love for working with young children and an understanding of their developmental needs. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards challenges that may arise in a nursery setting. Previous experience or qualifications in childcare or early years education is advantageous but not essential. Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to childcare settings.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 40 per week
