Kit hill castle boarding kennels is a well-established family run boarding kennels and cattery licenced to care for up to 66 dogs and 19 cats. The current owners, Dawn & Russell King; took over the business 22 years ago have taken great pride in building up a fantastic reputation with a bespoke approach to onboarding and caring for every new arrival.
We are currently offering a fantastic opportunity for an assistant manager to join our small team. This is a live in position. The successful candidate will be carrying out duties inclusive of: -
Management of seasonal / part time staff once fully trained.
Providing support to the kennel manager in the running of the facility.
Feeding, walking and caring for the general wellbeing of dogs and cats.
Cleaning and maintenance of the kennels.
Answering the phone and handling customer queries and bookings.
Operating and managing the booking system and emails.
Giving meet & greets, show arounds and onboarding new customers.
Helping customers with new arrivals or departures.
Filling out paperwork such as incident reports, onboarding or daily check sheets.
Providing holiday cover and additional support during peak times where needed.
Providing cover and assistance with our sister company very occasionally.
You will report directly to either Luke the Kennel manager or Dawn the Kennel owner.
Qualifications, skills and experience needed -
Must hold or be willing to attain Level 3 Professional daycare and boarding certificate (tuition covered by kennels).
Full UK driving license and transport due to location.
Experience working or living with animals previously.
Good customer service skills.
Good understanding and/or willingness to learn hygiene standards and ability to follow DEFRA guidance and regulations.
Strong time management and well organised.
Must be experienced or willing to learn how to observe and interpret both canine and feline behaviour to access stress levels and wellbeing.
Above all else we need a person who is reliable and flexible as the role is working with live animals, every day can be faced with a different challenge.

The position being offered comes with the following: -
Low cost living accommodation on site in a large static.
Contracted 34 hours per week. Friday - Monday weekly. Additional days may be required during peak times or for holiday cover.
Starting salary of minimum wage, rising to 13 per hour upon completion of a 12 week training period.

One on one training provided.
