Overview
The Live-in Support Worker will provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals living in supported accommodation. The role is to promote independence, dignity, choice, and safety while supporting service users with their daily living needs in line with their support plans and risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities
Care & Support
Provide day-to-day support to residents in accordance with their individual support plans.
Support with personal care where required, including hygiene and grooming.
Encourage and promote independence, life skills, and social inclusion.
Support residents with medication in line with company policy and training.
Assist residents to attend appointments, activities, and community outings.
Daily Living & Household Duties
Support residents with meal planning, shopping, and food preparation.
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
Support residents with budgeting and managing finances where appropriate.
Health & Safety
Follow all risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
Report any concerns, incidents, or changes in behaviour promptly.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents.
Record Keeping & Communication
Maintain accurate daily records and notes using company systems (e.g. Log My Care).
Communicate effectively with managers, colleagues, families, and external professionals.
Attend meetings, supervisions, and training as required.
Professional Conduct
Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
Respect confidentiality, diversity, and equality.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
Person Specification
Essential
Experience working in health and social care or supported living.
A caring, patient, and empathetic approach.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to live on-site as part of the role.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
Knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred care.
