Position Type:

Live-In: on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off basis.

Salary:

600 per week, Free accommodation & meals subsidised by the family.

About the Role:

We are seeking two dedicated, compassionate, well driven

Live-In Carers (Companions)

to provide one-on-one support to a lady in her 90's with dementia. She displays no signs of challenging behaviours and is a very pleasant and happy individual. You'll be living in the client's home, helping with all aspects of daily living while offering companionship and peace of mind. This lady has spent her life enjoying her favourite past time, Arts & Crafts, making her own cards and gifts for others. She would like her companion to also enjoy this hobby so that you can assist her to maintain her independence with this. She enjoys going out in her wheelchair and loves to go for something to eat out or a coffee. This lady has both visual and hearing impairment, so will need her companion to be empathetic, patient, have good English language and clear communication skills. She loves being around others and gets lots of enjoyment from having company.

Responsibilities include:

Personal care (washing/showering, dressing, grooming, encourage oral hygiene) Medication management Meal preparation and light housekeeping duties. Mobility assistance Companionship and emotional support Attending appointments or social activities/outings. Be supportive & encouraging and allow her to be actively involved in all activities

Requirements:

Must be a female companion. Previous care experience - Dementia care desirable. Health & Social Care Level 2 / Level 3 desirable but not essential. Be a kind, patient and compassionate person and have a respectful attitude Ability to live-in for agreed-upon rota (e.g. 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off) Right to work in the UK Enhanced DBS check / Satisfactory references / complete all company training.
