We're a welcoming and busy pub offering great food and a friendly atmosphere. We're looking for a reliable, passionate chef to join our small team. This is a live-in position, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a supportive environment and wants to take real pride in their kitchen.

Responsibilities



Develop and execute diverse, high-quality menus tailored to personal preferences, dietary restrictions, and special occasions, ensuring a memorable dining experience. Prepare and cook a variety of meals with finesse, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special event catering, maintaining consistency and presentation excellence. Oversee all aspects of kitchen management, including inventory control, food ordering, and ensuring proper food handling and storage procedures are followed to uphold food safety standards. Supervise and manage kitchen staff or assistants, providing leadership, guidance, and training to ensure smooth daily operations and high standards of food production. Coordinate with household members or clients to plan menus, accommodate dietary needs, and incorporate feedback to continuously elevate culinary offerings. Manage food service operations, including serving meals, setting up buffet or plated service, and ensuring timely delivery of all food and beverages. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times. Lead catering efforts for events or gatherings, ensuring seamless execution from planning to service. Monitor and control food costs, manage budgets, and optimize resource utilization to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Stay updated on culinary trends, new techniques, and industry best practices to bring innovative ideas into the household's culinary experience.

Skills



Extensive culinary experience, including fine dining, catering, and restaurant management, with a strong emphasis on food presentation and flavor. Proven banquet experience and a background in supervising kitchen staff or teams, demonstrating leadership and team management skills. In-depth knowledge of food production, food safety, and handling, with certifications or training in food safety and sanitation. Strong skills in menu planning, food preparation, and food service management, with a focus on dietary accommodations and health-conscious options. Experience in inventory management, inventory control, and food cost analysis to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage shift schedules, oversee kitchen operations, and coordinate catering events smoothly. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with household members or clients to meet their culinary expectations. Knowledge of hospitality standards, including serving, bartending, and overall food industry best practices. Ability to work independently and take initiative in a live-in environment, maintaining professionalism and discretion at all times.
