Live In Registered Nurse (complex Care)

Chelmsford, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking two compassionate and committed Registered Nurses to provide live-in complex care for a 36-year-old woman with significant neurological and physical health needs. Working on a 1 week on / 1 week off rota, the nurses will ensure continuous clinical oversight and work alongside a small team of carers to deliver safe, person-centred support.

The role is live-in during your working week, with private accommodation provided. You will form part of a stable, trusted care team supporting her in her home environment following neurosurgery and ongoing rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 24-hour clinical oversight during your live-in week. Safely manage and administer medication (oral and enteral). Support swallowing, nutrition, and hydration needs, including PEG feeding and risk management. Deliver bladder and bowel care, including continence management and bowel routines. Oversee skin integrity, pressure area care, and wound management. Monitor and respond to seizures, neurological changes, or acute deterioration. Liaise with GPs, hospital specialists, therapists, and community services. Work collaboratively with carers, ensuring clear delegation of clinical vs. support tasks. Provide trauma-informed care that values emotional wellbeing alongside physical health. Keep accurate records in line with NMC standards and care plan requirements.

Requirements

NMC-registered Registered Nurse (Adult/RGN) (consideration given to RMN/RNLD with strong physical health skills). Experience in complex care preferred but not essential - full training will be provided. Compassionate, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a small care team. Comfortable with a live-in rota (private bedroom provided during working week).

Benefits

1 week on / 1 week off rotational contract with accommodation. Opportunity to form a trusted, consistent care team around one patient. Competitive salary, with professional costs funded via PHB/CHC. Full induction and ongoing training in Daisy's care. Supportive working environment with clear routines and boundaries.
Note: Recruitment and interviews will begin in advance, but the start date is dependent on the patient's confirmed relocation to Chelmsford.
