The Directors of Frome Livestock Auctioneers Ltd are seeking a confident, experienced and driven individual to manage and ensure continued growth of the market business. This role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to influence future direction together with assisting the finance director in managing the financial performance of the business.
Key responsibilities will include overall management of the following areas:
Reporting to the board of directors
Employment of over 30 full/part time staff, sub-contractors and auctioneers
Health & Safety policy
Market licensing, assurance and communication between relevant bodies (APHA, Red Tractor, Trading Standards etc.)
Business development and generation
Site leases, building maintenance and on-site effluent plant
Customer service and feedback
Shared responsibilities with directors and managers will include:
Customer payment terms and debt management
Banking and payment transactions
Livestock procurement strategies
IT and accounting systems
Communicating with and presenting information to shareholders
Overseeing on-site cafe
The successful candidate must possess the following skills and attributes:
Strong communication skills on all levels
Management experience
An approachable and confident personality
A basic understanding of livestock farming and terminology
Leadership and people management
Competency with IT systems (Microsoft word/excel etc.)
Decision making in high pressure environments
Experience with auction sales would be advantageous however not essential
Remuneration and package will be based on experience and the individual candidate. Flexible working hours will be considered for the right candidate.
