Job Description


Main Purpose of Role: To support the Stud Manager in effectively managing the livestock, a livestock team and livestock facilities to ensure that the production of the Cogent product for both UK and International Sales and Custom Sorting is in line with the business requirements and standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with the stud manager and leadership team to maintain and develop the strict biosecurity boundaries and protocols to ensure the health of the livestock and the health status of the stud.
  • To lead, motivate and develop a Livestock team in order to deliver the departments objectives.
  • To work closely with the Livestock Administrator to ensure efficient movement of livestock in line with regulatory requirements??
  • To be responsible for the semen collection in line with the internal and external customers requirements.
  • To build effective relationships with other departments in order to deliver excellent customer service.
  • To ensure the continuous development and improvement of the departments policies and procedures
  • To continuously develop and improve
  • To comply with Company policy and best practise in security, legal and regulatory compliance
  • To ensure H&S responsibilities are fulfilled both by yourself and your team.
  • To complete any other duties as required from time to time.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
  • Must have experience of Livestock Management
  • People Management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills to give the team direction.
  • Computer literate
Desirable Skills
  • Bobcat/Tractor licences or experience \xe2\x80\x93 Full training can be provided.
  • Foot trimming
