Loan Documentation and Security Manager - LMA (Fluent Cantonese)
Up to 90,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits
Hybrid - 4 days in office, 1 day at home
We are seeking a highly skilled Loan Documentation Manager with a strong focus on LMA (Loan Market Association) to oversee the preparation and management of loan documentation throughout the entire loan lifecycle. In this role, you will ensure that all facility agreements and transaction documents are prepared in accordance with the approved credit proposal and completed within required timeframes.
Candidates MUST be fully qualified lawyers and must have fluent Cantonese language skills
Duties for Loan Documentation Manager include:
The core focus of this role is to perfect, enforce, and maintain all loan and security documentation in full compliance with internal and external regulatory standards.
Documentation & Negotiation

• LMA Expertise: Prepare, review, and negotiate complex bilateral and syndicated primary loan documentation, including enhanced standard facility letters, LMA-based facility agreements, deeds of priority, and inter-creditor agreements.
• Security Perfection: Handle all security documentation (e.g., debentures, share charges, subordinated debt assignments), ensuring all collateral is properly perfected, registered, and maintained.
• Legal Compliance: Appoint and liaise with external law firms, and obtain satisfactory local legal opinions on the validity and enforceability of documents for non-UK companies prior to drawdown.
• Post-Issue Management: Manage all post-issue documentation support, including consents, waivers, amendments, and restatements of facility agreements.
• Secondary Trading: Attend to secondary trading documentation (e.g., transfer certificates and trade confirmations).

Process & Control

• Manage the Loan Drawdown Checklist (LDSD), ensuring all conditions precedent are satisfied or waived before utilization.
• Maintain accurate records of outstanding items and ensure timely follow-up for rectification.
• Manage the release of securities once credit approval is obtained (e.g., deed of release, DS1s, removal of charges).
• Ensure absolute confidentiality of all customer records and transactions, and support the integrity of the loan data.

Requirements for Loan Documentation Manager include:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience with LMA documentation and commercial lending.
• Candidates MUST be qualified lawyers and MUST have fluent Cantonese language skills
• Deep, working familiarity with LMA primary and secondary documentation is mandatory.
• Prior experience in lending involving property (investment and development) as security, and familiarity with perfection and registration procedures, is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of internal standards and external regulatory requirements governing loan documentation and perfection.
• Excellent communication skills required to effectively liaise with lending staff, legal counsel, clients, and counterparties throughout complex documentation processes.
