Job Description

The Loan Equipment Service is looking for a new Technical Instructor to be involved in the full system process from processing orders to delivering to collecting.

Main duties of the job
The post will be varied including tasks such as:
Monitoring and updating ELMS system orders
Driving a van up to Luton size to deliver clean and collect equipment from houses e.g. hospital type beds, commodes, mattresses.
Processing orders and warehouse duties., including cleaning equipment.
Routine Maintenance and Equipment Repairs

  • Stores work e.g. replenishing stock, stock inspection/repairs and assembly.
  • Collection/delivery and installation services of Loan Equipment items to/from patients homes. This equipment includes larger items such as riser/recliner chairs and beds.
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance programmes.

  • Be capable of working unsupervised on a wide range of equipment supplied by the loan equipment service.
  • Both written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Basic keyboard skills and ability to use hand held recording devices and associated software packages.
  • Physically able to undertake moving and handling of a diverse range of equipment.
  • Work with or without supervision

  • Basic computer skills
  • Team Working
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
  • The post holder must have relevant experience within a health/social care or maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Ability to work on planned preventative maintenance programmes.

  • Comprehensive geographical knowledge of Newcastle City
  • Experience of stores work
  • Decontamination experience
  • Working with disabled or elderly people/the public
