An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join the LADO service. The role leads on the process for ensuring that children are safe and protected which is achieved through excellent management of allegations against adults or organisations that work with children.


Within this role you will make important decisions and work with a range of stakeholders to achieve safety for children in Lambeth, chairing Allegations against Staff and Volunteers meetings as governed by the requirements of the Children Acts 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Keeping Children Safe in Education.


You will be supported in your role by a LADO Service Manager and there is Business Support Officer support. The LADO service has continued to be praised for providing a Good Service in Lambeth and additional resources have been provided to maintain and further develop this by having an additional LADO in post to ensure consistency.


A relevant social work qualification - e.g. DipSW or CQSW or Degree in social work is essential to this post. As well as an up-to-date registration with Social Work England (SWE).
