Are you a strategic leader with a passion for transformation and public service? We are seeking an experienced Transformation Programme Manager to lead a high-profile, complex programme of change as part of our local government reorganisation (LGR).

About the role


As LGR Programme Manager, you will:


- Lead the delivery of a multi-year transformation programme aligned with the Council's strategic vision.


- Oversee the integration of services, systems, and cultures across newly formed or restructured local authorities.


- Ensure robust programme governance, manage risks, and ensure benefits realisation.


- Engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders including elected members, senior officers, staff, and partners.


- Champion change management and support staff through organisational transition.




What we're looking for


We're looking for someone who brings:


- Proven experience in leading large-scale transformation programmes, ideally within the public sector.


- Strong understanding of local government operations and political environments.


- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.


- Professional qualifications in programme/project management (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, APM).


- A strategic mindset with the ability to deliver practical, people-focused solutions.




Qualifications


- Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Public Administration, Business, Project Management).


- Professional certification in programme/project management (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2 Practitioner).


- Desirable: Postgraduate qualification or change management certification (e.g., Prosci, APMG).




Equivalent experience will also be accepted.
