Brief Description

Locking fitters

Locking fitter teams operate nationally to undertake the maintenance and renewals of mechanical and electrical signal points and mechanisms, often these are in remote locations, and difficult to access.

About the role (External)

Locking Fitter Grade 2

As a Mechanical & Electrical Locking fitter you\'ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the mechanical signalling system and interlocking within the Network Rail Infrastructure.

In joining our Locking Team you\'ll be part of a dedicated and skilled team who utilise traditional engineering skills to help maintain a safe, reliable mechanical signalling system.

We need our Locking Team to:

\xc2\xb7 Work safely at all times, ensuring that work carried out by the team is undertaken safely, expertly and in line with the relevant NR standards.

\xc2\xb7 Carryout Signalling & Track maintenance work according to correct specificationand as instructed

\xc2\xb7 Undertake rapid response and on-call duties when rostered to do so.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure the safe keeping and correct use of tools and equipment.

\xc2\xb7 Have excellent engineering manual dexterity alongside excellent fault-finding skills

Essential requirements:

Do you have...?

\xc2\xb7 A good understanding and knowledge of working within locking fitting, signallingor similar engineering equipment or experience working in a maintenance environment

\xc2\xb7 Excellent manual dexterity skills

\xc2\xb7 Strong numeracy and literacy skills

\xc2\xb7 The ability to communicate effectively

\xc2\xb7 Afull UK driving licence

Are you...?

\xc2\xb7 Able and willing to work shifts

\xc2\xb7 Ideally a Personal Track Safety (PTS) card holder

\xc2\xb7 Ableto work well in a team environment where safety is paramount

\xc2\xb7 Ideally able to show previous experience supervising teams
