We are looking for a colleague who is happy to work in a varied DGH. The role will include the need to cover a range of lists (Orthopaedic, general, robotic, paediatric (older than 2 years), elective obstetric, trauma). In addition, depending on the skills of the applicant and the need of the department, you may be asked to cover the emergency on-call theatre. At all times you will have a substantive consultant available for support.
We expect the applicant to be happy and capable to teach novice anaesthetists in theatre. Ideally, we are looking for someone who enjoys teaching and join in with the trainee teaching rota.
You would be expected to contribute to clinical and educational activities within the directorate as determined by the consultant on your team and provide a high-quality service to the local population.
To assist in the supervision and teaching of junior trainees.
To contribute, to local clinical governance activities including clinical audit and clinical risk initiatives.
You will be required to co-operate with local management in the efficient running of services.
Proposed weekly timetable is based on a 10 Session Contract, 8 DCC, 2 SPA.
The post holder is required to travel as necessary between hospitals / clinics. A planned and cost effective approach is expected.
