This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and expanding Cardiology team as a Locum Consultant Cardiologist at Yeovil District Hospital, part of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. This post is to provide maternity leave cover and offers a unique chance to work in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment with access to cutting-edge facilities and a wide range of subspecialty services.


The successful applicant will be based at Yeovil, contributing to general cardiology inpatient and outpatient care, with the opportunity to develop subspecialty interests aligned with service needs. The role includes ward rounds, outpatient clinics, MDT participation, and teaching of junior medical staff.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

Provide general cardiology inpatient and outpatient care


Conduct ward rounds and outpatient clinics


Participate in MDTs and subspecialty clinics (depending on experience)


Supervise and teach junior medical staff


Engage in clinical governance and departmental administration


No acute medical on-call or weekend cover required

Essential




Full GMC registration with licence to practise


CCT in Cardiology (or within 6 months of obtaining)

Broad experience in general cardiology


Excellent communication and team-working skills

Involvement in research or service development
