Job Summary
The NHS Trust is seeking an experienced
Locum Consultant
to provide high-quality clinical care within the department. The postholder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred service delivery.
This is an
urgent start
position to cover [e.g. sickness, vacancy, or maternity leave], and the successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consultant-level clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients within your specialty.
Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, theatre sessions (if applicable), and MDT meetings.
Supervise and support junior medical staff and allied health professionals.
Contribute to departmental teaching, audit, and quality improvement activities.
Participate in the on-call rota (if required).
Ensure compliance with Trust policies, GMC standards, and clinical governance frameworks.
Essential Requirements
Full
GMC registration
with a valid licence to practise.
CCT / CESR
(or within 6 months of completion) in relevant specialty.
NHS experience at consultant or senior level.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to start immediately (ASAP availability).
Desirable Requirements
Experience in service development and clinical governance.
Evidence of teaching and training junior staff.
Research or audit involvement.
