Job Description

This new 10 PA locum consultant clinical oncologist post will support the UCLH neuro-oncology team in the delivery of care for patients with brain tumours alongside the surgical care delivered at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square. The post-holder will also deliver an endocrine oncology service focusing on molecular radiotherapy for thyroid cancer and neuroendocrine tumours as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications / Certification
Essential
  • Medical degree and completed General Professional Training, or equivalent
  • Higher academic degree e.g. MD or PhD (or in final stages of preparation), or evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in research publications
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or be within 6 months of obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or equivalent, in an appropriate specialty at time of interview - exact start date will be discussed with the candidate at interview
  • Non-UK trained doctors must provide evidence at interview that they are eligible for full GMC registration and entry on the Specialist Register in Clinical Oncology
  • Fellow of Royal College of Radiologists or evidence of an equivalent level of qualification in Clinical/Radiation Oncology

  • Experience of and commitment to multidisciplinary working
  • Wide experience in managing treatment and follow-up of patients with cancer
  • Experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
