Applications are invited for a part time fixed term Locum Consultant Orthodontist. You will be based in the orthodontic department working alongside our existing Consultant Orthodontist and an experienced team of clinicians, nurses and administrative teams.The post is to support our existing patient demand.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will participate in clinical duties, audit, directorate meetings and undertake administrative tasks.The post holder will be encouraged to be involved in all aspects of departmental activities including teaching and research. Qualifications/Professional Registration
Essential

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent
  • Entry on GDC Specialist Register for Orthodontics
  • Intercollegiate Specialty Examination or equivalent or within 3 months of completion of Post-CCST training
Desirable
  • Masters Degree or equivalent in Orthodontics
Experience
Essential
  • Clinical training & experience equivalent to gaining UK ISFE in Orthodontics
  • Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems
  • Ability to take full & independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
Desirable
  • Minimum 5 years supervised training in an appropriate SpR / Post-CCST
Skills
Essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to advise on efficient & smooth running of the orthodontic service
  • Ability to organise & manage outpatient priorities
  • Disability and Equality awareness
  • Familiar with IT system and their application
Desirable
  • Experience of audit management
Knowledge
Essential
  • Enquiring, critical approach to work Caring attitude to patients
  • Ability & willingness to work within the Trust & NHS performance framework & targets
  • Extensive demonstrated abilities in the field of orthodontics
