The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing psychiatric care to patients across various services, including adult inpatient, community mental health, or emergency psychiatric services. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced psychiatrist to join a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment to adult patients with complex mental health conditions.
Lead multidisciplinary team meetings and work collaboratively with nurses, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
Manage and treat patients with a range of psychiatric conditions, including but not limited to mood disorders, psychosis, anxiety, and personality disorders.
Work closely with the team to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Participate in on-call rotas and contribute to the crisis and emergency psychiatric services.
Provide supervision and support to junior doctors and medical trainees.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care, following all hospital policies and best practices.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychiatric research, treatment guidelines, and mental health legislation.
Key Requirements:
Full registration with the
General Medical Council (GMC)
with a license to practice.
Completion of core psychiatry training (CT1-CT2 level) or equivalent.
Experience in psychiatry, ideally at the CT3 level or equivalent, with a proven ability to handle a diverse range of psychiatric cases.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage complex, often high-pressure situations with professionalism.
Commitment to high standards of patient care and continuous professional development.
Experience with the
Mental Health Act
and its application in clinical settings is desirable.
Right to work in the UK (appropriate visa status if applicable).
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
MRCPsych (Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists) or equivalent.
Experience working in inpatient, community, and/or crisis psychiatric services.
Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and clinical documentation software.
