Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Locum Dentist (on call) to provide exceptional dental care in a dynamic clinical environment. This role offers the flexibility to support our dental team during scheduled absences or peak times, ensuring continuous patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient communication, and the ability to work independently while adhering to all regulatory standards and best practices in dentistry. Prior experience with dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is preferred, along with a solid foundation in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and general dentistry procedures.

Duties



Provide comprehensive dental examinations and assessments utilizing current medical and dental terminology. Perform a variety of dental procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other restorative treatments. Utilize aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment. Conduct patient care activities such as patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and education on oral health. Document all procedures accurately within electronic health records systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Assist with dental fabrication processes when necessary and operate medical imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes. Collaborate with team members using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and treatment efficiency. Ensure adherence to all safety standards related to anatomy knowledge, medical imaging, and infection control procedures. Maintain detailed medical documentation and records in accordance with legal and organizational policies.

Qualifications



Valid dental license with eligibility for licensure in the applicable state. Proven experience in general dentistry; experience in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, or prosthodontics is a plus. Proficiency with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and HIPAA regulations. Demonstrated ability to perform dental extractions, root canal therapy, endodontics, and other complex procedures confidently. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Experience working in a dental clinic or office setting is highly desirable. Ability to work independently on an on-call basis while maintaining high standards of professionalism and clinical excellence.
