Key Responsibilities:
Provide
specialist psychiatric assessments
and ongoing management of patients in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and community-based care.
Work across multiple
psychiatric subspecialties
,
such as:
Adult Psychiatry
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
Forensic Psychiatry
Old Age Psychiatry
Addiction Psychiatry
Eating Disorders Psychiatry
Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU)
Learning Disabilities Psychiatry
Neuropsychiatry
and
Rehabilitation Psychiatry
Participate in
Section 12 Approved
assessments for the Mental Health Act.
Complete risk assessments, care plans, and progress notes
in line with NHS and locum agency standards.
Provide
on-call services
and
crisis management
as required.
Collaborate with
multidisciplinary teams (MDT)
including nurses, psychologists, social workers, and support staff to ensure holistic patient care.
Contribute to
supervising junior doctors
and assisting in
medical teaching
when applicable.
Essential Criteria:
Qualifications:
Full
GMC Registration
with a license to practice.
Section 12 Approved
(mandatory).
MRCPsych
or equivalent psychiatric qualification.
Postgraduate experience in psychiatry at a
Specialty Doctor
level.
Experience:
Proven experience in psychiatric care across different subspecialties.
Experience in
mental health assessments
, risk management, and developing care plans.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in
on-call duties
and crisis management.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage challenging patient situations and complex clinical cases.
Flexible, reliable, and adaptable to new working environments.
Commitment to high standards of clinical documentation and patient care.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience in
