Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated
Locum Senior Registrar (SPR)
to join our
ENT, Surgery, and Trauma & Orthopaedics
departments at
NHS Trust
, for an
immediate start
. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated doctor with multi-disciplinary surgical experience to provide comprehensive patient care while working as part of a collaborative and dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
ENT
:
Perform consultations and manage patients with a range of ENT conditions.
Provide emergency ENT support and be involved in surgical procedures.
Assist with outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, and ward rounds.
General Surgery
:
Work as part of the general surgery team for inpatient and outpatient care.
Assist in theatre, perform surgery (if competent), and manage pre-operative and post-operative patients.
Be responsible for clerking patients, managing post-op recovery, and following up in clinics.
Trauma & Orthopaedics (T&O)
:
Participate in trauma and elective orthopaedic clinics and surgery.
Provide assistance in trauma assessments, fracture management, and surgery.
Manage pre-op assessments, follow-up consultations, and post-operative care.
Take part in
on-call shifts
as required across all specialities.
Participate in
multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings
and clinical audits.
Supervision and teaching
of junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals as part of your leadership development.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Essential
:
Must have previous NHS experience
at Senior Registrar (SPR) level or equivalent in
ENT, General Surgery, or Trauma & Orthopaedics
.
Full registration with the GMC
with a license to practice.
In-date Advanced Life Support (ALS)
certification (or equivalent).
Recent experience in an
NHS acute hospital setting
(ideally in the relevant specialties).
Ability to manage and make decisions autonomously, particularly in emergency situations.
Strong communication and teamwork skills
to liaise with other specialties and healthcare professionals.
A commitment to
high-quality patient care
and clinical governance.
Desirable
:
Postgraduate qualifications in relevant specialties (e.g.,
MRCS
,
MRCSEd
,
FRCS
).
Previous
locum or fellowship experience
in ENT, Surgery, or T&O.
Ability to
lead
and mentor junior staff and contribute to teaching programs.
Experience in performing surgery and managing complex cases across multiple specialities.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: 54.00-80.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 - 50 per week
