Job Purpose
The postholder will work as a Locum Specialty Registrar (ST3-8 level) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, providing comprehensive care in both obstetric and gynaecological services. The role will involve labour ward duties, gynaecology theatres, antenatal and postnatal care, emergency gynaecology, and outpatient clinics, under the supervision of consultants.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Provide high-quality clinical care in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Actively participate in labour ward management, including assessment, decision-making, and safe delivery of care.
Manage antenatal and postnatal patients, including complications of pregnancy.
Undertake duties in emergency gynaecology, elective and emergency gynaecological surgery.
Participate in outpatient clinics across subspecialties (antenatal, infertility, colposcopy, menopause, uro-gynaecology, etc.).
Take part in the middle-grade on-call rota, including nights and weekends.
Supervise and support junior trainees, foundation doctors, and medical students.
Maintain high standards of documentation and patient safety.
Engage in teaching, audits, and clinical governance activities.

Emergency Gynaecology & Early Pregnancy Unit (EPU)
Elective & Emergency Gynaecological Surgery
Outpatient Clinics (Antenatal, Fertility, Colposcopy, Uro-gynaecology, Menopause)
Theatre Sessions
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
Full GMC Registration with a license to practise.
MRCOG (Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists).
Completion of Core Essential Logbook (CEL) - evidence required.
Valid Life Support certification (ALS / ALSO / equivalent).
Minimum of 4 years' postgraduate experience, with at least 2 years in O&G.
Competence in managing obstetric and gynaecological emergencies at ST3+ level.
Ability to work independently with senior support available.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
ATSM modules (Labour Ward Lead, Advanced Labour Ward Practice, etc.).
Previous NHS middle-grade O&G experience.
Evidence of involvement in teaching, training, and clinical governance.
Experience in research, audits, or service improvement projects.
Other Requirements
Willingness to work flexibly, including unsocial hours, as part of the rota.

Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: 55.00-85.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 - 50 per week
