We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team within a non community setting. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, alongside a comprehensive understanding of medication administration and anatomy. As a Pharmacist, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to optimise patient outcomes and enhance the quality of care provided.
Responsibilities
Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Provide expert advice on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions to both patients and healthcare staff.
Conduct thorough medication reviews for patients, particularly those in Intensive Care Units (ICU), to ensure appropriate therapy.
Monitor patient progress and adjust medication regimens as necessary in collaboration with medical teams.
Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and patient information in accordance with privacy regulations.
Educate patients on proper medication administration techniques and the importance of adherence to prescribed therapies.
Stay updated on new medications, treatment protocols, and advancements in pharmaceutical care.
Experience
A recognised degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or equivalent regulatory body.
Previous experience in a clinical setting, particularly within an ICU environment, is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and pharmacology as it relates to patient care.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients and healthcare professionals alike.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
