Role Overview

The locum pharmacist will be the Responsible Pharmacist (RP) on assigned days and will oversee safe and effective dispensing within an online pharmacy setting. You will ensure compliance with GPhC and MHRA regulations, maintain high clinical standards, and support the development of processes as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

Act as Responsible Pharmacist during designated working days. Oversee and authorise the dispensing and supply of NHS and private prescriptions. Conduct necessary clinical checks, including suitability, interactions, dosage, and appropriateness of therapy. Ensure full compliance with GPhC standards, SOPs, and relevant legislation. Verify the accuracy and safety of prescription assembly, labelling, and dispatch. Provide professional support to the pharmacy team and contribute to improving workflows. Assist in developing and reviewing SOPs and digital processes as the pharmacy scales. Maintain accurate records, including RP logs, interventions, and CD entries (if applicable). Offer clinical advice to patients via phone/email/online messaging where needed. Support future service development (e.g., online consultations, PGDs, health services).

Experience & Skills Required

GPhC-registered pharmacist (essential). Previous experience in community or online pharmacy preferred, but not essential. Strong understanding of pharmacy regulations and good dispensing practice. Comfortable working independently as RP in a low-volume pharmacy. Good clinical judgement, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Confidence using digital systems and online pharmacy platforms (training provided).
